website and provide a monetary donation to this program. They are a weekly
publication of writing and art from inside juvenile detention centers in
California and across the country. Over the years they have provided our
program with copies of The Beat Within publication and are an instrumental part
of our workshop activities. Visit

2011 Donation Goal | Voices Behind Walls A part of the Voices Behind Walls workshop involves providing incarcerated youth that participate in our class with a copy of The Beat Within, a creative writing publication that several of our students have had their poetry and artwork featured in. The Beat Within issues a new publication twice a month. To cover printing costs of these publications in mass we are requesting monetary gift donations of no less than $5 dollars per person. If you provide a donation of $5 you will also be provided with a copy of the publications that we print for our workshop.
